Mulsanne

The Mulsanne debuted in the Bentley stable in 2009, replacing the Arnage. Powered by a version of Bentley's 6.75l twin turbo V8, the Mulsanne is Bentley's flagship, ultra-luxury sedan.

Mulsanne Speed

The Mulsanne Speed debuted at the Paris Auto Show October 2nd, 2014. Released as a 2015 model, the Speed had a reworked twin turbo V8 with 530 horsepower and 811 ft lbs of torque. For increased sportiness, the car featured a reworked ZF automatic transmission with a “S” mode for sportier driving. It also featured a sportier suspension, which could be configured to the driver's preference.

Mulsanne EWB

The Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase (EWB) is stretched 9“ over the stock Muslanne, increasing legroom significantly for rear seat passengers. The rear passenger seats were redone in the style of a private jet, complete with task tables that fold out of the center console, similar to what would be found on a jet.

Other Mulsanne Derivatives

In 2015, Bentley debuted the Grand Convertible at the L.A. Auto Show. Built in a similar manner to the Azure, the Grand Convertible is a large, four place convertible based on the Mulsanne.

As of late 2015, the Grand Convertible still wasn't approved for production, but Bentley executives had spoken publicly on several occasions about the desire to return a large convertible to production along with developing other derivative of the Mulsanne. It has been speculated that this would include a long wheel base version of the Mulsanne.

In 2016, Bentley announced a new bespoke manufacture program through Bentley's Mulliner division that would build you a convertible version of the Mulsanne and stretched limousine version. The factory did deliver an unknown number of Mulsanne Limousines but this

Special Editions

Birkin Edition 2014

The Birkin was a European only model, produced in only 22 copies. The model was inspired by Sir Henry 'Tiger' Tim Birkin, one of the Bentley Boys, who raced extensively around Europe in the 20's and 30's.

The Birkin was produced in three exterior finishes: Ghost White, Damson, and a two tone paint scheme of Fountain Blue and Dark Sapphire. The cars were built off the Mulliner Driving Specification and included model specific 21” wheels, numbered door sills, and 3D ‘Flying B’ logos stitched into the vehicle headrests and inlaid into the wood of the front fascia and rear picnic tables,

The cars were also spec'd with the latest entertainment technology including 8“ monitors in the back of the head rests, WI-FI, and iPads build into the tray tables.

Mulsanne 95 - 2014

Bentley celebrated their 95th anniversary in the UK by creating a limited run of 15 cars for the 2014 model year. The cars were only available in the UK and featured British inspired details including three bespoke colors: Britannia Blue, Empire Red and Oxford White.

Exterior details included a dark tint finish given to the iconic Flying B bonnet mascot and 21-inch five-spoke wheels.

Unique interior pieces included illuminated treadplates featuring ‘Ninety five’ script and the union flag. The seats featured an embroidered ‘95’ emblem and the wood veneer used was from a storm fallen walnut tree. The tree was estimated to be between 300 and 400 years old. The interior was finished out in a blue and white two-tone leather split with red contrast stitching to complete the British theme.

Mulsanne 'Blue Train' - 2015

The 'Blue Train' was announced in 2015 and slated for only four cars to be produced to commemorate the 85th anniversary of Barnato's legendary race against the Blue-Train. The car was built off the Mulsanne Speed with the following aesthetic changes:

  • Unordered List Item21” Mulliner Driving Specificaiton all-black alloys with polished centre caps
  • Bentley Drivers Club badge mounted on front radiator grille
  • Square mesh front grille inspired by original Speed Six
  • Personalised treadplates showing the silhouette of the Bentley Speed Six and ‘Blue Train 85 Years’ plaque
  • Retractable Flying B with engraved wording on the base: ‘Blue Train’ and ‘85 Years’. (This is the first time Mulliner has etched on the famous Flying B.)
  • Handcrafted veneer image of the original Bentley ‘Blue Train’ Speed Six built into the dashboard facia
  • Fluting pattern in door panels and the rear quarter inserts reflecting the interior of the original car
  • Embroidered headrests showing silhouette of the Bentley Speed Six with wording ‘Blue Train’
  • Bespoke ‘Blue Train’ hamper featuring Robbe & Berking Cutlery, Haviland Limoges Crockery, LINLEY Crystal Champagne Flutes and a 100% Angora Picnic Rug, woven in Scotland (first car only) 4)
